Coconut oil has been considered a miracle solution in many cultures, throughout centuries. Even today, in many areas where coconuts grow in abundance, the residents use the oil to treat skin to prevent dryness, premature aging, and sunburn. The saturated fats in coconut oil are a type of moisturizer. They provide a barrier on the skin that prevents the natural moisture evaporating, thereby helping to retain the moisture content in the skin. This results in a smoother, softer feel to the skin.
Additionally, there is a large amount of vitamin E in coconut oil. It is proven, through scientific study, that vitamin E is beneficial for proper skin health. In fact, the vitamin E in the coconut oil is essential for healthy skin growth. It helps skin cells growth and that means faster, more successful healing. It also means that the classic signs of aging – age spots, wrinkles, and sagging – are staved off. Premature aging products will commonly include coconut oil.
Shaving has become a necessary evil in our culture. Men do not want to show up at work scruffy, nor do they want to wear full beards in the heat of summer. So, they shave. However, they don’t have to suffer the negative consequences on their skin. The coconut oil can provide the moisture barrier and softness that will help prevent razor burn, dry skin, and other side effects of shaving. For women it provides a smooth, silky shave and leaves your skin moisturized for hours. All in all, a perfect ingredient for our shave cream.
